His brother, Mike, confirmed to TMZ that Starr passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, due to natural causes.

​Before becoming a recognizable face on screen, Beau Starr had a remarkable athletic career. He played professional football for the New York Jets, the Montreal Alouettes, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

​In 1980, he transitioned into the entertainment world, starring in a play at the American Theater of Actors. He earned his first television credit in 1979 on Bizarre.
